Aphids on ROSES? MISTER MUSKUL WILL HELP!
Small pests are a real attack not only for a plant, but also a big frustration for a grower. No joke: some insects can instantly turn a healthy plant with many buds and shiny leaves into bare twigs ..
Having settled on roses, the aphid sucks out all the juices from them, deforms the buds and tops of the shoots. Sometimes rolling of leaves is indicative of her attacks.
It seems like crushing aphids is a simple matter. But this pest is not as simple as it seems. Its females are very fertile: every two weeks from only one individual, 150-200 new insects are born. And if you do not pay attention to uninvited guests, then you can soon say goodbye to the beauty of rose bushes. In addition, aphids are a carrier of various diseases, including viral ones.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT Aphid PREVENTION ON ROSES
A single treatment of rose bushes will not get rid of aphids. So that the plants are not a tasty morsel for pests, it is necessary to conduct regular control with them. At the same time, it is also necessary to engage in prevention: choose the right place for roses, take into account the lighting, correctly feed and water.
It is also necessary to promptly remove dried leaves and faded flowers, cut off diseased and weakened shoots - they are most often affected by aphids. A shower procedure for roses or washing the plants with soapy water also gives a good effect. After that, the aphid usually does not return.
Meanwhile, nature itself has created the most real fighters against this pest. Enemies of aphids are ladybugs, hoverflies, earwigs, ground beetles, lacewings, parasites, weevils.
In the garden, you can put containers with wood shavings, earwigs are happy to settle there, the main food for which is aphids. This pest is also exterminated by birds that fly into the garden. Insecticide plants also fight aphids. Aphids cannot stand, for example, the neighborhood with Dalmatian chamomile and fennel. Plants such as lavender, hot pepper, aromatic pelargonium, nasturtium and calendula can drive it from the garden plot.
ROSE AHEAD MEASURES
This pest can be crushed directly on branches and buds with gloved hands. But this business is not to everyone's liking. Those who are not in the mood for a long struggle should resort to the help of "Fufafon". When in contact with this drug, the aphid dies. Although a greater effect can be achieved using enteric-contact means: "Actellik", "Aktara", "Decis-profi", "Commander". They show excellent action when applied to the soil and spraying plants.
Folk remedies for aphids on roses
Softer, but also effective means are various decoctions and herbal infusions. As raw materials, you can use the above plants, the neighborhood with which aphids do not tolerate. Infusions from the tops of potatoes, garlic and onions will also help: they will work no worse than chemical repellents.
To prepare 1 liter of concentrate, you need to take 200-250 g of grass, pour hot water or boil for 0,5 hours, and then leave to infuse in a closed container for 2-3 days. Then strain the concentrate, dilute in a ratio of 1: 3 and spray the plants.
Be sure to add green soap or laundry soap without bleach to the prepared decoctions. This means you need to spray the plants in the evening, when beneficial insects finish their "working day".
To lime aphids on roses, you can use Mr. Muscle Window Cleaner. You just process the bushes with it, the aphid immediately turns black and does not appear anymore. And roses bloom beautifully.
