Gardener mistakes in early to mid-summer
MOST COMMON ERRORS OF SUMMER GARDENERS IN SUMMER
The gardening season is in full swing, with only a few weeks left before the harvest. And right now, mistakes made earlier are beginning to appear. Let's talk about the most common ones.
1. Hurry up with planting seedlings
Even at the beginning of summer, it can be cold, and not all crops are comfortable at this temperature. Peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants can suffer greatly from return frosts and simply low temperatures in early summer. Plants can stop growing or die altogether. The consequences of hypothermia will not be noticeable immediately. Plants will be weak, may start to hurt, or do not want to form flowers, and they will shed the ovaries.
To prevent this, plant seedlings only when the risk of recurrent frost is minimal. Or use additional shelter after planting, even in a greenhouse or greenhouse.
2. Fed at the wrong time
It is undesirable to apply dry fertilizers after watering or heavy rain. If fertilizer gets on the leaves, severe burns may occur, due to stress, the plants will be delayed with the formation of the crop. It is better to first loosen the soil, carefully distribute the fertilizer, then water the garden well and lightly embed the fertilizer into the soil.
In contrast, liquid top dressing should not be used on dry soil. Spill the soil well beforehand, and only then apply fertilizers.
Do not rush to apply fertilizers: most of them begin to work only when the soil and air warm up to + 10 ... +12 degrees, so in cold weather, give up fertilizing. When feeding under the root, apply mineral fertilizers dissolved in water in the evening. If this is done during the day, the evaporation can burn the leaves. Water carefully, do not get on the leaves, otherwise burns may also occur.
3. Overfed
When applying fertilizers, strictly follow the instructions. If you overfeed the plants, they will actively form leaves, but you may not wait for the fruits.
By the way, not all gardeners know that fresh manure decomposes up to four seasons. AND MAKE IT ANNUALLY, THEN SUPPLYING THE PLANTS WITH NITROGEN.
