    I plant garlic in different parts of the garden. At first, it grows beautiful, large, and then at one point it turns yellow and withers. When I pull out the plant, it turns out that the garlic is practically without roots. What's the matter?

      - There may be several reasons:
      - pests (nematodes, bears, beetle larvae);
      - violation of the rules of agricultural technology (waterlogging of the soil); - acidic soil.

      In order not to face the described problem in the future, if possible, add chalk or dolomite flour under the autumn digging of the soil (half a liter can per 1 sq. M). And before planting the garlic, spill the garden with a solution of 10% ammonia (12 tablespoons per XNUMX liters of water).

    I want to tell you about the experiment with planting garlic. Usually, in a garden bed prepared for this culture, I mow and close up mustard planted there earlier and well-grown by the appointed time. And last year I didn’t do it,. but just right along the roots of the green manure I made rows with a flat cutter, sprinkled them with ash and planted chives there. Then she spudded the bed with a plow, and put mulch in the aisles. By the spring, she almost completely rewound, and I loosened the aisles with a flat cutter and then huddled the bed again. As a result, she got an excellent harvest of garlic. This year I will do the same.
