THE BEST VARIETIES OF RED PEARS
© Author: Nikolai CHROMOV
The fashion for the coloring of apples and pears changes from year to year. Initially, the typical pear color was yellowish-green, but years have passed, and now they are much more actively beginning to plant and acquire exactly grush with red fruit color, and the larger part of the surface of the fruit this color occupies, the better for the buyer, and for the seller too, because then you can sell the goods as quickly as possible.
GRADE STARCRIMSON
The variety has a red fruit color, good weight, and excellent taste.
For many, this variety is their favorite in the collection. Its advantages include the excellent preservation of the fruits: they can lie for up to a month under normal conditions, absolutely without spoilage.
The main thing is storage conditions, but this is also a constant bulkhead of the fruits, and checking them for the presence of rot or lightened places: such areas usually appear before the fruit begins to rot.
The pears of this variety themselves are sweet and tasty, with an abundance of juice, and the plant is very resistant to frost, and also resistant to scab. One minus for seedlings is that they begin to bear fruit only seven, and sometimes even eight years after planting. The most coveted, the largest harvest can be obtained only in the tenth year after planting the seedling, but then for two decades you are guaranteed to be with the harvest, of course, subject to agricultural technology.
Do not forget that the variety requires a pollinator variety, that is, any other variety that will bloom at the same time as it. In this case, the distance from tree to tree can be calculated in a couple of tens of meters: for example, if a pear grows in a neighboring area, blooming at the same time as yours, then this will be enough for pollination.
Depending on the age of the plant, on the nutritional value of the soil, on the abundance of moisture, heat and light, the mass of the fruits of this variety can range from 180 to 280 g.
The color of the skin of the variety is of a pleasant, now fashionable burgundy color, the pulp literally melts in the mouth, and the taste is dessert, but diluted with a very appropriate sourness.

VARIETY RED WILLIAMS
This is a French variety, distinguished by its late ripeness. The variety looks pretty much like Starkrimson, but it is just amazed by the scab. In addition, the variety is not recommended for planting in cold regions, because even in the northern regions of the middle lane it sometimes freezes.
Of the advantages, this, of course, is the early ripening of the variety - already in the third year, less often in the fourth, after planting you will get a harvest.
The disadvantages include a large overload of fruits, which often leads to the breakdown of shoots or whole branches. In addition, after several years of abundant fruiting, years may come with no harvest at all or with weak fruiting.
The weight of a pear varies from 160 to 190 g, much larger pears can hang on the top, reaching a weight of 270 g.
The flesh of pears is pleasant, has a creamy color, an abundance of juice, the most delicate taste and aroma of nutmeg. Pears can be eaten both fresh and processed into juice or compotes.
VARIETY CARMEN
This is a domestic variety. The tree itself is quite compact, this is a big plus, because where you previously placed two pear trees, you can safely plant three.
The color of pears is pleasant - fashionable burgundy, and when fully ripe, it becomes rich scarlet.
The pluses include a strong stalk that does not allow fruits to fall. Very pleasant, literally melting pulp, suitable for those who like oily pulp.
Average weight of fruits - about 120-130 g.
Of the advantages, one can point to a high resistance to scab, to frost, well, and a long harvesting period - until the middle of the last month of summer.
Pears collected without impact or damage can be stored for 15 days.
It begins to bear fruit at an average time, usually four or five years after planting.
VARIETY OF PAINT
This tree grows quite low, for it 4m is a record. Fruit weight is also moderate - about 120 g.
It is interesting that the fruits are devoid of a funnel - there is a growth in that place, and from it you can understand whether Kra-suul was sold to you or not.
The fruit itself is quite beautiful, hence the name.
The fruit has a very delicate skin, it is smooth and has a characteristic shine. The color on most of the fruit is red, vague, in places yellowish-scarlet. Subcutaneous points are visible.
The pulp has a creamy color, it is very tender, and its consistency is loose.
The fruits are tasty, sweet, there is a certain shade that can be called spicy.

In one of the comments of N.K. Vasilyeva asked why fruits perish on apple and plum trees - they rot right on the tree. I want to help her in her trouble.
Dear Nina Konstantinovna! It seems to me that you created this trouble yourself, with your own hands. I think you overfed the trees with nitrogen fertilizers. They enhance the growth of the tree, it develops well, but the fruits do not like excess nitrogen: they deteriorate and are poorly stored.
To correct the situation, do not apply nitrogen fertilizers for two years, and in order for the fruit trees to please the harvest, fertilize the trees with ash and potassium-phosphorus fertilizers. But you can't overfeed them either! In general, fertilizers should be applied according to the instructions on the package.
I also had such a case. When we were given a plot of 6 acres for a garden, I immediately planted various fruit trees, including one pear. I wanted to get a crop as soon as possible, and while it was growing, I constantly fed it with nitrogen fertilizers. She grew up very quickly, turned into a beautiful tree, blossomed, and my joy knew no bounds. But soon the joy turned into continuous grief: all the fruits on the tree turned black and began to dry.
I began to look for the cause of my trouble. I re-read a lot of different literature and found: it turned out to be my fault - I overfed the pear with urea. After that, I began to fertilize it only with ash and potassium-phosphorus fertilizers in spring and autumn. But the fruits still turned black, although less, and only in the second year the fruits were born normal.
But then another misfortune came: the taste turned out to be very astringent, it was impossible to eat. The pear came to me from a negligent seller, and it was a savage, which is impossible to eat. In the people it is called "dulya".
There were many fruits. Sometimes you come to the garden and see this picture: the whole earth around the tree is strewn with pears. It was terribly pitiful to look at such good things that were wasted on earth. At first I did not know what to do with such bitter fruits, and then I realized that you can make juice from them for the winter.
The fact is that while the pear is hard, it is bitter, but lie down for a while - and its flesh becomes dark, soft and very sweet!
There is a lot of juice in it: you crush a pear, and the juice is so sweet that your fingers stick together. I bought a juicer and started making pear juice. It turns out very tasty and sweet, and without any added sugar.
