Growing peaches in the Kursk region - care tips
PEACHES IN THE MIDDLE STRIP - LANDING AND CARE
Once we were treated to delicious, albeit medium-sized peaches of local, so to speak, production. As it turned out, they were grown from seeds. We decided not to throw away ours from the eaten peaches and sowed them in late autumn directly into the ground without any shelter. In the spring, to our surprise, almost all of them came up. Joy knew no bounds!
Over the summer, our crumbs grew noticeably, and in the fall we transplanted them to another place. However, in the spring, dreams of a peach garden collapsed: for some reason, buds did not bloom on almost all the trees. And only two frail sprouts suddenly rose and spread their green leaves. We groomed them, cherished them, fertilized them, watered them. I even sang songs to them!
Is it all in vain?
This went on for five years. The trees grew, pleased with foliage, but did not set fruit. We have already despaired, even the thought of their destruction arose. And only in the sixth year, our trees were covered with unusually beautiful bright flowers, and then the ovary did not take long.
I immediately hastened to spray this miracle with a solution of boric acid (1 tbsp per Yule of warm water) so that the ovary would not fall off.
And how happy we were when, after a while, we already enjoyed this yummy. And the smell, and the taste! And this is with us, not in the Crimea, not in Krasnodar! We just overeat, treated everyone, friends and neighbors.
But out of the blue, disaster struck. At the last harvest, the largest branch had to be tilted to collect the last fruits, and then there was a crack, a branch broke off, pulling another one with it.
What to do? I even cried, begged her to hold on. She ran into the house, took a bandage, smeared the bruised place with ointment, quickly bandaged it as best she could, put a support. Every day I begged her to live, I was very afraid that the leaves would wither and the branch would dry up. But, fortunately, the branch survived and went into the winter in full health.
I also grow seedlings of good varieties of apricots from seeds, and a variety of crops from seeds. Imagine, many of them give an excellent harvest even without any vaccinations, with full preservation of varietal qualities.
Dear fellow gardeners, do not be afraid to experiment, it's so great - from a small seed or a tiny bone, with your own efforts to get something new, your own - a beautiful bush, a chic tree, a delicious berry!
In the photo, my favorite peach tree with its last fruits: more than three buckets of this yummy have already been collected. It remains to collect the last, most ripe, delicious peaches!
