GARDEN AND GARDEN WITH YOUR OWN HANDS - TIPS AND LIKHAKI
I noticed that many write out important information in a notebook. In my opinion, it is more convenient to stick on colored bookmark stickers: red - berries, green - vegetables, purple - pest and disease control, etc. Right on them, I make notes, for example: strawberries, currants, pumpkins, beans. When I need to find something specific, I take the files and open the marked page on the desired culture.
GIANT GARLIC
I use the place in permanent greenhouses to the maximum. For example, in one, one and a half beds are occupied by cucumbers, half a bed by eggplants of the King of the North variety, among which five bushes of cowpeas (asparagus beans) grow. The central bed is reserved for hot peppers.
In a tomato greenhouse along the edges of the beds I grow parsley, basil and petiole celery: it gives a huge amount of green mass during the season, which I dry for the winter. I plant garlic at the ends. For some reason, under these conditions, it grows gigantic, so in the third greenhouse I specially set aside a whole bed for it. There are also remontant strawberries, pleasing grandchildren from the end of May until frost, sweet peppers and various exotics: okra, loofah, melons of the Gift of Ho Chi Minh grandfather variety.
HEALTHY EARTH OWN HANDS
In autumn, I feed the land in greenhouses: I raise the soil on a bayonet and put half-rotted compost of the current year and apple carrion into the trenches. There are so many earthworms that the shovel moves!
Then I sow mustard and leave it to winter in this form - in spring the earth is like fluff. I do not process either boiling water or potassium permanganate in any case! In summer, always a layer of mulch from cut grass. As a result, the soil in greenhouses is not depleted.
SECRETS OF SEEDS
I store the seeds in the compartment on the refrigerator door, where many people have medicines, so they do not lose their germination for years. However, the seeds of cucumbers and zucchini must be removed and warmed up in advance, otherwise there will be few female flowers!
When planting seeds and bulbs, I use a glass bottle - it is convenient to hold and press: the bottom is an emphasis for the hand. The length of the neck is equal to the depth of the hole, and its diameter is equal to the diameter of the hole. The bottle hangers form a funnel in the ground. Absolutely even pits of the same depth and width are obtained.
WHY TOMATOES WIRE?
I don’t tie up tomatoes, I have my own technology. Immediately after planting, I stick reinforcement into the ground, on which I put on tubes 1,5 m long from an old plastic greenhouse. As I grow, I grab the trunk and brushes of tomatoes to the pipes with soft wire.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE PLOT
I grow over a hundred crops, but there are only four beds with "edible" ones. They are deep - the earth (loam) is taken out on two bayonets, instead of it a mixture of branches, foliage, compost, peat.
And the husband also made mini-greenhouses, consisting of a wooden frame, purchased arcs and old polycarbonate (photo 1). It turned out to be a light, mobile design - I can easily move it and install it where necessary. The greenhouses can be blown away by the wind, so my husband drilled holes in the corners so that I could securely fasten them to the surface with old skewers. I use these designs in early spring and autumn.

In the greenhouses, my husband made several S-shaped hooks. I hang coils of wire on them or a work jacket when it gets hot.
The firewood carrier is a great idea from my father who made it 40 years ago. Steel wire and handle: easy to make, comfortable to carry, and takes up little space when folded (photo 2).
The lower section has two slopes. On the big one, we made terracing, which at the same time became the border with the neighbors (photo 3). Successfully done! Last year, they found a use for the second slope by cutting a cellar into it. As a result, we turned the disadvantage into a highlight. Everything can be done, the main thing is desire!
UNEXPECTED GUESTS
Our cottage is located in a small village in the middle of the forest. All neighbors are wonderful! There are no fences, no conflicts - on the contrary, we always come to each other's aid. The whole village is repairing the road and celebrating holidays. However, this isolation has a minus: very close to the forest.
Periodically we meet moose, roe deer, bears, but they do not come to us, unlike foxes and hares. Sometimes wild boars, like bulldozers, pass through the plots, so you often have to figure out how to save the crop from uninvited guests. For example, in the fall I save young apple trees from hare grass by wrapping them in used nylon tights: they are too tough for animals.
PARADISE FOR FEATHERS
To get rid of moles, I plant black beans at the ends of the beds and in the flower beds. The effect is obvious: the animals are gone and no longer frolic in these places.
I also found control over the ants: I sprinkle the places of their accumulations with semolina. Greenhouses have been clean for three years!
We also have an abundance of birds: from owls, owls, hawks and eagles to chirping fry. In summer, thrushes create a lot of trouble, instantly eating bushes, if we suddenly did not have time or forgot to cover them. In winter, we always feed the birds, and not only through traditional feeders: somehow I saw a useful thing on the Internet and asked my husband to do it. This is a storage facility made of a metal mesh, we put fat in it - jays and magpies cannot get it, but it is very convenient for titmouse and various woodpeckers to feed.
