Care for honeysuckle AFTER picking berries!

HONEYSUCKER COLLECTED? DO NOT FORGET ABOUT CARE!
Honeysuckle ripens in late May-early June. Having harvested, many forget about the bush until the next season. But without due attention in the summer-autumn period, there will be less and less berries on the plant every year. Meanwhile, caring for honeysuckle after fruiting is not so troublesome.
1. WATERING HONESKY
In drought, shrubs in the garden, including honeysuckle, need to be watered. Mulching (compost, mowed grass) will help reduce the number of water procedures.

2. FEEDING HONESKY AFTER FRUITTING
In June, to restore strength, feed honeysuckle with nitrogen-containing fertilizer: per bush - 15-25 g of urea or 20-30 g of ammonium nitrate. The granules can be dissolved in water and then poured under the plant or, under light loosening, placed in the trunk circle and immediately watered abundantly.
From organic matter, a solution of mullein (1:10) or bird droppings (1:20) is suitable.
At the end of September, digging up the soil, apply phosphate and potash fertilizers - 15 g of double superphosphate and potassium salt per 1 sq.m.
3. PROTECTIVE TREATMENTS OF HONESKY AFTER PICKING BERRIES
Usually honeysuckle from diseases and pests is not sprayed in summer. But if after harvesting there are alarming symptoms (notice aphids or spots on the leaves), take immediate action. An insecticide (Decis, Inta-Vir) or a biological product (Fitoverm) will help against pests. With fungal diseases (powdery mildew, leaf spots), a fungicide (Skor, Topaz) or a biological product Fitosporin-M will cope (everything is strictly according to the instructions).
4. CUTTING THE HONESTUCK AFTER THE HARVEST
Immediately after fruiting in early summer, for sanitary purposes, you can remove dry, broken, diseased, growing in the center and crossing branches (cut as low as possible to the ground, leaving no stumps).
In general, in the first 5-7 years after planting, honeysuckle is not pruned. Then, once every 2-3 years, sanitary pruning is done according to the type of thinning (as indicated above). At the age of 14-15 years, old branches begin to be cut from the plant to a strong young branch located in its lower part. Carry out work in the fall after leaf fall.
FLOWER BUDS IN HONESKY MOSTLY ARE PLACED AT THE END OF THE SHOOTS. AND IF YOU STRONGLY CUT AND SHORTEN THE BRANCHES, YOU CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE HARVEST OF BERRIES.
