WHETHER TO MOW STRAWBERRY LEAVES OR NOT - OPINIONS AND REVIEWS
We have harvested the last crop of strawberries and now we are wondering if it is necessary to mow the leaves on the plantation? There are conflicting views on the internet about this. Let's figure it out!
Strawberries, after picking berries, enter a very important period of life for it, on which the next year's harvest largely depends. In plants, the growth of new leaves and roots is restored, hearts grow, fruit buds are laid, and then a rearrangement of nutrients occurs (from the leaves they pass into the stem and root).
Stored nutrients affect the winter hardiness and growth of the bush next year. The conditions for the growth of strawberries in the autumn are of great importance: with favorable factors, it can be said with confidence that you will get a high yield next season. But with a lack of mineral nutrition, a strong development of diseases and pests, an abundant growth of mustaches that deplete the mother plant, the next year's harvest is sharply reduced.

WHEN AND HOW TO CUT STRAWBERRY LEAVES
It is necessary to mow the leaves when there are serious reasons for this, for example, if the plantings are badly damaged by a strawberry mite or some kind of disease (spotting). The leaves are cut no later than 10 days after harvesting at a height of 5-7 cm from the soil surface. Burn all diseased vegetation immediately! And do not delay the procedure: later pruning worsens the wintering of strawberries.
CARE AFTER HAIRCUT
After mowing, the plantation must be watered and fed with mineral fertilizers: 7-9 g of double superphosphate and 9-11 g of potassium sulfate (or 7-9 g of potassium chloride) per 1 sq.m.

If strawberries are treated with infusion of horse sorrel, they will not get sick. Fill a bucket with chopped horse sorrel leaves (the more the better), cover with water and let steep for a week. Then strain, add liquid soap and spray the strawberries with this solution. Pour the remaining infusion under the bushes.
