OVERVIEW OF THE BEST DWARF TOMATO VARIETIES
Exotic lovers have appreciated the tomatoes of the Dwarf series. These varieties are very productive and disease resistant. Compact bushes do not need support. Large colorful fruits have an attractive presentation and have an amazing taste. What more could you want?
Orta-gnomes are the pride of our collection. Each variety has its own charms and advantages.
Dwarf Awesome - mid-season productive variety. The plant is determinant, with wrinkled leaves. Fruits weighing 170-260 g, multi-chamber, orange-pink, very beautiful. The pulp is marbled, juicy, slightly tart, well balanced taste, very aromatic. The variety is disease resistant.
Dwarf Red Heart - mid-season high-yielding variety. The bush is undersized, densely hung with fruits. Fruits are heart-shaped or plum-shaped, weighing 50-120 g, dense, without spots and cracks. Interestingly, even on the same bush fruits of different shapes are formed. The pulp is sweet with a slight sourness, rich taste. The variety is distinguished by keeping quality.

The flesh is pale yellow, juicy. The fruits are great for salads and processing.
GNOME TOMATOES - CARE AND AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
There are no tricks in the agricultural technology of the dwarves. We prepare the soil for tomatoes in the fall - we introduce humus or compost (20 kg per 1 m2), we introduce manure under the culture preceding tomatoes (15 kg per 1 m2). The best predecessors are pumpkin, legumes, onion plants, cabbage. We never grow tomatoes after or next to potatoes.
Every 10-14 days we feed the plants with mineral fertilizers (40-50 g per 10 liters of water). On poor soils, top dressing with infusion of mullein (1:8), bird droppings (1:15) with the addition of potassium sulfate (10-15g per 10l of infusion) give excellent results.
Often, gardeners remove leaves from plants for no reason, forgetting that the leaves feed the plant in the same way as the roots. Leaves absorb carbon dioxide, from which organic matter is formed under the action of sunlight. The plant receives half of its nutrition from the foliage. Therefore, we only remove leaves if there is a good reason for doing so. First of all, we remove the old, yellowing lower leaves.
They cease to perform their functions. There is no harm from them, but no benefit either. We are trying to get rid of the so-called fattening leaves, which take nutrition from the fruits and delay their ripening, as well as leaves that greatly thicken the bush and prevent ventilation. In addition, we remove part of the leaves to the first brush to speed up the ripening of the fruit.
Whatever surprises this season has in store for us, we are firmly convinced that the gnomes will not let us down.
