How to deal with the offspring of cabbage butterflies? These nasty caterpillars gnaw leaves all the time, and I don’t know how to deal with them, because you can’t use insecticides on cabbage - you can later get poisoned by it.

In the arsenal of folk remedies there are many recipes for dealing with caterpillars. One of the most effective plants against these pests is chamomile. Try to make an infusion from it and spray cabbage. You need to take 1 kg of crushed inflorescences and chamomile leaves, pour 10 liters of hot water (60-70 degrees) and insist for 12 hours. After filtering, dilute it twice more with water and add 40 g of grated laundry soap.
But to the old recipes, you can add new ways, born by the inquisitive minds of modern gardeners. So, for many, ordinary toothpaste has become the best protection against cabbage caterpillars, which gives simply amazing results. Here's what to do.

Squeeze out of the tube 3-4 tbsp. l. paste, pour 10 liters of clean cold water, mix well and leave to infuse for 2 hours. The resulting liquid (it should be cloudy) must be poured into a sprayer and processed cabbage. The tool can be used both to expel caterpillars that have already appeared from cabbage, and for preventive purposes. To do this, it is enough to spray the cabbage leaves once a week. Heads of cabbage will turn out clean, healthy and completely harmless to people.

Empty tubes can be used to prepare a practically free dental insecticide, unless, of course, they are thrown away. In this case, 5-6 pieces should be cut lengthwise, put in a bowl and pour warm water for 2-3 hours. After that, bring the volume of liquid to 10 liters.
