The method of preparing carrot seeds and my feedback about it
CARROT FOR JAM - GLUE AND SOW
I read various articles you have on the topic of growing carrots. I would like to share my experience as well.
So, we take a pack of seeds of the same Nantes or any other. Pour 1 tsp into half a glass of water. salt, stir. We fall asleep seeds, stir again and hold for 10-15 minutes. Full-weight seeds will settle to the bottom, empty ones will float - we remove them. After a salty bath, rinse in a weak solution of manganese, then let dry until flowable.
Now we take a simple toilet paper and cut ribbons of about one meter. You will also need any old jam and a regular match. Pour the jam into a saucer, put the dried carrot seeds next to it. We dip the tape first into the jam, then into the seeds.
We make sure that the seeds stick to the paper on a segment of at least 4-5 cm. Then we dry the paper with the glued seeds. If you need to store, fold carefully and store in a bag until sowing.
Now the sowing. The soil should be loose and fertile. Pour the bed with hot water and close until it cools. Then we take ribbons with seeds, carefully spread them on the beds, cover them with a layer of loose earth 2 cm and again pour warm water. We cover the beds on top with a dark non-woven fabric for 10-12 days.
With this method, i.e. when covered with dark material, all weeds die before the carrot shoots, and the carrot sprouts, and it does not need to be thinned and weeded.
Well, then - just watering. You can still once a season, when the root crop is gaining strength, feed it with bird droppings, diluted 1:10 and infused.
