WHY IT IS WORTH TO PLANT A JAPANESE QUINCIE IN THE GARDEN - ABOUT DIRECT AND INDIRECT BENEFITS!
Who would have known what an unheard-of power is hidden in quince! It not only strengthens the body with a variety of vitamins, no. Quince scares off robbers from the garden, and turns men away from drunkenness. How exactly? But read it.
GROWING AIVAY - LIKE IN PARADISE ...
One day my dad told me about a plant - some kind of quince. She supposedly blooms very beautifully all May, and then gives yellow apples. So, they are very useful as a vitamin, tonic. And they also have a lot of iron, which increases hemoglobin.
The last argument intrigued me.
Once we got to the nursery in the spring - a whole garden of quince was in bloom there, blazing with a fiery fire of large flowers, like those of an apple tree. You know, if we were in heaven, there would be such a picture. Sunrise, a huge garden, blazing like a fire, with red flowers, around swarms of bees. I have never seen such beauty in my life! And what is interesting: this beauty lasts a whole month. And when the bushes fade, and they fade gradually, it seems that this bright fire is gradually dying out. It’s completely imperceptible - the colors just fade every day ... It’s a pity, then I didn’t have a good camera yet.
Summer flew by, and in the fall we brought several bags of these apples.
By the way, it is very interesting to collect them - like mushrooms. There are no fruits at the top, only in the middle of the bush and closer to the ground. It is necessary to rake the leaves, collect by touch. So interesting, even the excitement woke up. I got the most. Well, what next? Grandfather made himself juice - he is being treated this way for depression and something else.
A large number of seeds were released - in one fruit there are up to 60 of them. An old seller at the market explained how to sow them - before winter in a row, sprinkled with sand. In the spring, a friendly brush of seedlings awaited us - two large beds. I still say thanks to that grandfather.
The quince grew up, reaching about 30-40 cm over the summer. In the fall, we already sold seedlings - inexpensively - 30 rubles a piece, and there was no end to buyers. In general, from this one bed I received 3000 rubles in the spring and 2000 in the fall. We rented a lot in bulk - there were customers.
These beds were enough for me for five years of sales. In the end, there were only five bushes left on it. I just couldn't dig them out - too close.
A fire was blazing in the garden, the neighbors came to see what kind of miracle it was. Even I myself ran into the garden several times a day - such a beauty! The main thing is that I grew everything myself, from a tiny seed ... No one can describe my pride. Went like some famous breeder. Now you have your own quince in the garden, you don’t need to go to the nursery.

USEFUL PROPERTIES OF QUINCEE - VERIFIED IN PRACTICE!
The harvest has come. Each bush gave four liter jars of apples, very large and different in shape - both huge and small, there were also pear-shaped ones. Enough for everyone: they made juice and compotes. Dad especially leaned on them: he really loves quince.
Once in the market, I heard a curious phrase. One buyer confessed to me that he lived in Western Europe and was so used to this quince (they sell it in supermarkets there) that he developed, so to speak, a habit.
So our grandfather eats quince in large quantities right without work. He says it's very helpful. Well, I believe. In women, by the way, such dependence is not observed, and in men a persistent habit is developed to use Japanese quince - this is not the first time I have heard of it. The habit, in principle, is not bad - dad is getting married for the seventh time! Probably a lot of vitamins.
But even if there were no fruits at all, it would be worth planting quince simply because of flowering. This is truly an indescribable sight!
I planted a few bushes near my apartment building. They have already blossomed and are bearing fruit. Not much, a dozen, but they are still young. And immediately it became somehow cozy near the house.
I have a lot of seedlings buried in different corners of the garden - after selling on the market, I just dropped a pack in the garden and forgot about it until autumn. In the autumn, when cleaning up the garden, I found several packs. She gave seedlings to all her friends. No pity.
And I myself grew chestnuts, red bird cherry, barberry from seeds - we add its fruits to pilaf, we treat animals when they get sick, and it’s just beautiful. I also grew two cherries from seeds. However, they haven't bloomed yet. But these are real cherries, they have already survived three winters and continue to grow vigorously. We hope that we will feast on our sweet cherry, and even if it is slightly sour, it does not matter - it will do for compotes.
Cherry plum has also sprouted, not too cultivated, smallish, but very productive. I want to plant in the forest in the clearings. Well, let it be a little different from the seeds, but sometimes there are very good results. The family is big, there are many friends - everything will come in handy, everything will benefit.
Loyalty tree. The Greek myth says that Jason, during the campaign of the Argonauts, obtained the Golden Fleece and won the heart of the daughter of the king of Colchis, Medea. According to legend, Medea planted a quince next to her bedroom on her wedding day. She remembered that "the scent of quince will preserve her beauty and will not allow her husband to leave her." The marriage of Medea and Jason was happy and long until the tree was destroyed by an envious woman.

QUINCE - PLANT №1
Not here, of course, in Europe. But here's a story I was told one day. My relative was given Japanese quince seedlings. Well, she is a lover of all kinds of new products, so she accepted it with joy - especially since she was advised to drink quince juice. The fact is that her skin on her heels and fingers was very cracked, neither ointment nor pills helped. Someone advised her to brew quince fruits - they said it helps a lot. She planted them along the site, along the fence in a row. The bushes began to bear fruit. Auntie was treated - indeed, it helped with cracked heels, but she suffered for so many years! Next is the most interesting. She harvested once. A lot came out - a bag and a half. A young guy came to her on business, to ask something about the housework, saw the fruits of quince - became interested, began to ask what and how ...
Well, the aunt from a generous soul and poured him half a bag of crops, explaining how to use it. And you know what? The guy was so carried away that he suddenly stopped drinking, got a job and got married! Now my aunt has a baby stroller across the fence... The guy was not bad, he drank just out of boredom, but he got down to business - growing quince - and you just don’t recognize a person!
It is not for nothing that quince is so popular in Western Europe. It is quince, not potatoes. They won't put bad things in their mouths, that's for sure. But what if this plant is actually capable of becoming a Salvation for our men? And then you can’t drag it away from the bottle.
The government and us women need to think about this issue. Yes, my dad doesn't drink at all either. And most importantly, he doesn’t feel like it at all, although in his youth there was still that lover of strong drinks. It makes you think, so to speak.
And another great benefit in the garden from quince. Previously, lovers constantly visited to profit from the harvest - either they cut the cabbage, then they pull out the garlic, then they dig up the potatoes. But after the quince came into force and formed an impenetrable hedge, the "guests" stopped their raids. Quince, after all, the plant is quite prickly, and the spikes are very sensitive, and it also spreads over a space of one and a half meters by a meter. Enemies can't jump over. A couple of times we found rubber slippers, then the visits of night thieves completely stopped - who wants to pick out sharp thorns from their bodies! They finally left our area alone.
Such is the all-round benefit around: we rejoice in the taste of quince and are treated with it, the woman received a beautiful plant and improved her health, the garden got rid of thieves, and the neighbor's drunkard became an exemplary family man and a good worker.
Is this not enough? Well, let's plant more potatoes ...
QUINCIES AND GOLDEN APPLES - USEFUL TO KNOW!
In Antiquity, quince was considered a symbol of love and fertility. It is possible that it was she who was the "apple" that Paris presented to Aphrodite. It is also likely that the fruits of quince are described in Greek myths under the guise of "golden apples" growing in the fabulous garden of the Hesperides. In ancient Greece, quince was traditionally treated to newlyweds on their wedding day. In this way, people tried to attract good luck.
In folk medicine, the fruits are used for tuberculosis, bronchial asthma, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, and for cosmetic purposes - for the manufacture of eye lotions, hair strengthening. Aqueous infusion of leaves lowers blood pressure, softens attacks of bronchial asthma. The fruits and leaves contain tannins with bactericidal properties, and vitamin P strengthens the walls of blood vessels. The brewed leaves do not deteriorate for a very long time, retaining their aroma and bright orange color, and various sweets, including quince (compotes, jam, juices, candied fruit, marmalade), are very tasty, fragrant and beautiful. In spring, flowering quince is unusually elegant, and its fruits are not affected by either the codling moth or other diseases.
