Do-it-yourself top dressing from tomato stepchildren
FEEDING FROM TOMATO BOLT WITH YOUR HANDS
Throughout the summer, I carry out the procedure for pinching tomatoes. During this time, a lot of lateral shoots of tomato bushes accumulate. Usually they are thrown away, but not by me. I have found the best use for them.
From tomato tops, nutritious top dressing is obtained for many crops. It contains large amounts of potassium and nitrogen.
Fill the container 2/3 with tomato stepsons, fill with clean water on top, cover and leave for two weeks. Dilute the resulting solution with water in a ratio of 1: 10 and use to fertilize cucumbers, cabbage and tomatoes.
The tops of tomatoes contain a strong poisonous substance solanine.
It effectively fights insects that spoil the leaves and stems of plants.
At the same time, the tart smell scares away even small rodents. To prepare the solution, chop 2 kg of stepchildren with a knife and pour 5 liters of water. Boil the resulting solution for an hour over low heat. Spray plants once every 1 weeks.
Stepsons of tomatoes can be used instead of sawdust and hay.
This mulch protects the soil from drying out, retains moisture and helps fight weeds. And after the stepchildren rot, they turn into nutritious fertilizer for plants.
