PINK OCTOPUS BELL - A GREAT VARIETY!
Friends, have you ever had this happen: you sowed seeds on a flower bed and forgot about them because of the hassle, and a year later bushes of unprecedented beauty bloom? Or doubted the purchase of a new pet, and then were glad that they did not refuse to purchase? Stories are different. But we come to the conclusion that our favorite plants never cease to amaze us.
BELL PINK OCTOPUS - "OCTOPUS" IN THE FLOWER
Once, while weeding a flower garden, I seemed to have fallen into the “webs” of an octopus - a lot of eccentric flowers with cut and spread petals, “blades”, similar to the tentacles of a mollusk, circled around my face. I did not immediately understand what kind of plant it was, it was so unusual. 11 only a couple of minutes later she remembered that she had sowed the seeds of the Pink Octopus bluebell in this place last year.
The name of the variety in translation means "pink octopus". The flower fully corresponds to its name! It is a hybrid of the Bluebell and the Takeshima Bluebell. From both, he inherited only the best qualities:
- bush of medium height (up to 45 cm);
- does not fall apart and does not require support;
- does not weed, did not notice self-sowing during the years of cultivation;
- winter-hardy.
PRO CARE
It grows well in partial shade at the foot of the barberry and, at the time of flowering, effectively sets off the purple foliage of the shrub.
He is not picky about the composition of the soil, but is grateful when in the spring he gets a little humus from his clematis neighbor. Organic mulch is enough for the bluebell to bloom profusely throughout July each year.
In a drought, I spend sprinkling the flower beds, and the bush is filled with juicy greenery. Watering has a beneficial effect on flowering - it will take longer.
By the end of July, when the bell fades, I cut off the flower stalks at the level of the leaves, rake up the remaining humus or other organic mulch to the roots.
In August, the plant rests, and when the autumn is warm, it pleases with repeated flowering.

JOURNEY IN THE GARDENS
Pink Octopus is a non-aggressive variety. For four years, the bush has never been transplanted or divided. But at the request of her girlfriends, she cut off the edge of the curtain a couple of times with a scoop, without digging it out. The roots of the bell are thin, creeping and fibrous, so young rosettes separate and take root perfectly. So my "octopus" began a journey through the neighboring gardens.
