Fresh greens in winter? Now this is not a problem. But, of course, there are pitfalls: how this greenery was grown, what was applied, how it was processed - well, who can tell you? Isn't it easier to treat yourself to something natural, say newfangled microgreens, now they are literally obsessed with it, everyone, well, or many grow it.
You can add vitamin microgreens anywhere, for example, to a salad. These greens will not contain nitrates, as in the purchased ones, and it will cost you almost nothing.
If you have never grown microgreens before, then we advise you to start with peas, its sprouts can be obtained very quickly and very easily.
Before you start growing, you need to rinse its seeds very well, preferably three times. After that, hold them in water for a couple of hours and wait for swelling, while every 30 minutes you need to replace the water with a new, fresh one.
After the peas have swollen, it is necessary to rinse it one more time and then proceed to sowing.
It is best to sow in coconut fiber, well, or in agrowool. If you don’t have both and don’t want to buy, then you can grow pea microgreens in napkins in shallow containers. In this case, the substrate layer should be only a couple of centimeters thick.
Seeds should be placed in one layer, covering the surface of the substrate, then thoroughly moistened with water with the addition of the biological preparation "Fitosporin".
After sowing and moistening, place the containers where it is warm and with a minimum of light. If it is about 19-21 degrees, then the peas will germinate quickly.
After three days, the containers can be placed on the windowsill and then only keep the substrate moist.
After 10-12 days, you can already cut the greens, it is better to use it quickly - even in the refrigerator it is stored for no more than a couple of days.
