ORIGINAL SCOPOLIA AND CARE
This plant is one of the most spectacular representatives of the Solanaceae family. But, despite this, the unpretentious perennial is still rarely found in the gardens of ordinary lovers, more often it can be found in collectors.
Massive dark green leaves scopoline carniolian, or caucasian, can be seen on the top of a straight thin stem already in early spring. And in late April-early May, the plant produces the first buds. Its flowers are small, reminiscent of bells. Outside, the petals are red-brown, and inside - yellowish.
WHAT CARE SCOPOLIA LOVES
Scopolia is a shade-loving plant. She can't stand the sun. The ideal landing site is under the crowns of trees or in the shade of shrubs.
Likes fertile soil.
It does not tolerate drying out of the soil. I try to keep the substrate constantly in a moderately wet state.
If you create all of the above conditions for the plant, then it will not need top dressing, mulching and shelter for the winter.
WE PRODUCE SCOPOLIA
The rhizome of scopolia is poisonous, so when propagating by division (after flowering), I use gloves.
You can propagate the plant and seeds, sowing seedlings in March or immediately in open ground in May.
