PROVEN SCHEME FOR TREATMENT OF SEEDLINGS FROM BLACKLEG AND ROT
Tomato seedlings slowed down in growth, the leaves turned pale, some whitish spots appeared. It looks like a lack of nitrogen, which is strange, since I filled the soil mixture with fertilizers, as recommended.

Most likely, this is a manifestation of damage by root rot or a black leg. At an early stage, plants can still be cured, especially since the roots of tomatoes grow quickly and new ones form on the stem.
SCHEME OF TREATMENT OF SEEDLINGS FROM BLACK LEGS AND ROT
1st day. Morning watering seedlings with 0% solution of copper sulfate.
3rd day. Morning watering and spraying with a 0% solution of calcium nitrate.
5th day. Watering and spraying with a solution of potassium iodide: 5-6 drops of tincture per 1 liter of water.
All 5 days, foliar feeding is carried out with completely water-soluble complex mineral fertilizers for seedlings with the addition of a growth stimulator according to the instructions. The best time for processing is between 15:17 and XNUMX:XNUMX.
7th day. Treatment with biofungicides according to the instructions.
Plants can recover non-simultaneously, so if necessary, repeat the course of treatment.
Signs of healing are the resumption of plant growth and the formation of large, brightly colored leaves.
However, if foci of rapidly dying plants are found, these are dangerous infections, and, sadly, you will have to part with the seedlings.
TREATMENT OF SEEDLING FROM THE BLACK LEG - ADVICE AND FEEDBACK
SEEDLING AND BLACK LEG
Sometimes, in young seedlings, the first leaves that appear suddenly begin to turn yellow and wither, and the stem darkens, constrictions appear on it. All these are signs of a fungal disease of the black leg, which can damage any culture. But seedlings of tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, pumpkins are especially susceptible to it.
It develops rapidly, while the fungus clogs the nutrient-conducting vessels of plants. And if measures are not taken in a timely manner, then all seedlings may die.
I also had to deal with such a disease on seedlings of peppers. When the first symptoms appeared, I took the following steps.
- I removed all diseased plants with a root so that the rest would not become infected from them.
- She removed the top layer of soil with a thickness of about 2 cm. Shed the remaining earth for disinfection with a weak pink solution of potassium permanganate. After that, the plants did not water for a week so that the soil dries well.
- The remaining seedlings and the soil were powdered with wood ash, sprinkled with a little clean river sand.
- After the plants grew a little and got stronger, I transplanted them into separate plastic cups with drainage holes.
- Before planting seedlings in open ground, she treated it with copper sulfate (1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water). This increases the defenses of plants and strengthens their immunity.
In the future, she tried to prevent excessive waterlogging of seedlings (it is especially harmful to water with cold water), so that there is no stagnation of water during irrigation, seedlings are not pulled out from lack of light, avoid sudden changes in temperature, excess nitrogen fertilizers, carefully loosen the soil near young plants so that the roots are better saturated oxygen. Too often, the seedlings were not planted so that they were better ventilated. In subsequent years, she carried out disinfection and hardening of seeds before sowing.
The timely measures taken helped me to maintain and grow healthy seedlings of peppers.
