Vertical gardening with morning glory - tips
LIVING WALL FROM IPOMEIA OWN HANDS
When my husband built a canopy over the porch and concreted a platform under it, a recreation area appeared, which I tried to plant trees and shrubs.
Along the widest part of the site between the supports, she sowed the seeds of an unpretentious creeper - morning glory.
The husband made pegs out of wire with a loop-ring at one end. I inserted them into the ground between shoots and tied strong thin cords to the rings, which I hooked under the visor of the canopy to nails driven in advance into the wooden floors. Every year, this simple design was wrapped around vines. The result was a beautiful green screen wall, decorated with bright gramophone flowers.
Godfather's idea
Once a godfather saw me jumping, pulling the ropes, and decided to make it easier for me. I bought several meters of a special garden green plastic mesh, which we fixed at the top with the same nails, and on the sides with staples using a furniture stapler.
Some gardeners in the fall remove the net along with the dried stems of climbing plants and throw it away, and for the winter I remove only the withered mass of vines. When the stems and leaves of morning glory begin to turn yellow, I pull out the shoots with the root from the ground, and then cut them into pieces with a pruner and gradually, unraveling from top to bottom, I remove the trimmings of the lashes. The result is a whole stack of greenery, which can be laid in a compost pit or used for warm beds.
"Competitors" did not survive
From annuals, she also sowed seeds of nasturtium and sweet peas. The latter bloom earlier, but also turn yellow faster. By the time the morning glory tightly wraps around the entire support, the stems of nasturtium and peas are already hanging dry and ruining all the beauty. From time to time I buy seeds of other varieties. From self-sowing, I grow creepers with purple, scarlet, white and pink flowers.

COUNCIL OF THE SPECIALIST
In stationary buildings, it is still better to grow perennial crops. I would advise you to pay attention to unpretentious actinidia - kolomikta or arguta. These plants withstand frosts down to -30 degrees. Good winter hardiness allows you to leave the whips on the support without removing and sheltering for the winter. When planting bushes, the trunk circle is mulched to protect the roots from overheating and drying out in summer and deep freezing of the soil in winter. The creepers are quite large (up to 10 m high), so the support must be strengthened or another, more durable one should be provided.
If you plan to use actinidia only for decorative purposes, then you can plant different species or only female plants. If you want to collect tasty and healthy fruits, plant plants for 3 female specimens, one male, always of the same species, since seedlings of different species bloom at different times and cannot be pollinated in a timely manner.
