2 dressings for yellowing garlic - garlic + potassium
ARE THE TIPS OF THE GARLIC TURNING YELLOW? FEED!
My garlic turns yellow every year, mainly the tips of the leaves and the lower leaves, although the plants usually look strong (pictured). Tell me when and how it is better to feed the garlic so that it does not turn yellow.

The most common causes of yellowing garlic - return frosts and lack of nutrients.
Usually garlic planted before winter experiences in spring lack of nitrogen. It is recommended to feed it with nitrogen fertilizers twice. The first time - 1,5-2 weeks after the snow melts, when 3-4 feathers grow on the plants. At this time, it is good to use ammonium nitrate (1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water), which also works in cool weather.
The second top dressing is carried out with urea (2 tablespoons per 10 liters of water). They give it after 2-3 weeks, when the air warms up to 12 ... 14 ° C.
Urea contains a lot of nitrogen, for the processing of which soil bacteria are responsible, and they are inactive at low temperatures.
In order for beneficial microorganisms to wake up faster from hibernation, after feeding, the aisles must be loosened. In addition, too dense earth in the garden and the resulting lack of oxygen in it is another reason for yellowing garlic leaves.
If these terms of nitrogen fertilizing are missed, then further fertilizing is carried out with complex fertilizers, using, for example, nitroammophoska (2 tablespoons per 10 liters of water), which contains all the main elements in a balanced concentration.
Moreover, the tips of the leaves can turn yellow and from a lack of potassium.
If the garlic was fed with nitrogen in the spring, and the tips of the leaves continue to turn yellow, to eliminate potassium deficiency, fertilizing with potassium sulfate is carried out (1 tablespoon without a slide per 10 liters of water).
