Wintering geyher at home: from home to garden

GEICHER WINTER AT HOME
I think that geyhery can become an ornament of any flower garden. They have compact bushes, beautiful foliage of various shades, which is preserved in fat even in winter, and pretty flowers. And these plants are unpretentious and hardy, but I still take some beauties home.
In my region, winters are not as severe as in more northern areas, but given the vagaries of the weather, especially valuable varieties (Forever Purple, Midnight Bayou) wait out the cold on the windowsill.
CONDITIONS FOR GEICHER HOME
In September, I dig up bushes and transplant them into pre-prepared containers with a volume of 10 liters and a height of 40 cm. I make holes for water drainage and put a drainage layer of expanded clay or crushed red brick with a layer of 10 cm. neck at the same level. I water and transfer the pots to a well-lit warm (+ 20-23 degrees) place without direct sunlight.
Once a month I feed with Agricola Aqua fertilizer (20 ml / 1 liter of water).
I moisturize after the earthen clod dries.
With the onset of heat, I take out the flowerpots on the veranda, first for 10 minutes, then I increase the time spent in the fresh air every day. After wintering in the warmth, geyhers need to adapt to other conditions.
In May, I cross the bushes, picking up a semi-shady area in the flower garden. I carefully dig up the soil beforehand, adding chicken humus.
The next day, if there is no rain, I feed all the geyhers in the garden with nettle infusion with the addition of superphosphate. I prepare the infusion as follows: I chop the nettle with scissors and fill the bucket halfway. I fill the container with water to the brim, cover with a lid and insist for three days. In 10 liters of water I add 0 liters of nettle infusion and 5 matchbox of superphosphate.
When the flowers grow, I propagate them by dividing them in spring or autumn.

COMMENTS OF THE SPECIALIST
8 snowless winters in the middle lane geyhera can freeze. Every year in the fall, the plants are mulched with earth to the point of growth, because the root collar becomes bare with age. Young specimens cover in November, and adult bushes of proven varieties even in winter, if there is no snow. They put a plastic box, throw a spanbond with a density of 120 g / sq.m or spruce branches on top. Such protection will also serve as shading in the spring from sunburn.
It makes sense to take rare varieties and poorly rooted seedlings home for the winter, as Nadezhda does. The author properly cares for plants in room conditions. For the future: when the geyhers reach 4 years of age, I would recommend dividing the bushes into 2 parts in the spring.
In autumn, take one delenka into the house, and leave the other in the ground (with shelter) and observe. Perhaps wintering indoors is no longer needed. Monthly fertilization can be replaced with a one-time long-acting nutritional supplement, for example, by adding Osmokot (5 g / 1 l of substrate) to the soil during transplantation.

Heuchera leaves become inconspicuous. Is it possible to trim them?
#
— Heuchera leaves should absolutely not be cut off in the fall: they are the ones who keep the roots warm during winter frosts! In dry autumn, the bushes are watered, paying special attention to young plantings. With the onset of cold weather, the lower part of the stems is mounded with compost, and it is also advisable to lightly insulate it with small wood chips. In winter, monitor the condition of the snow cover. If there is not enough of it, add snow to the plants. In February, plants are protected from the sun to prevent drying out.
