RASPBERRY FOR BEAUTY AND HEALTH AND IN THE COOKBOOK
Many gardeners successfully grow fragrant raspberries. This berry is often mentioned in the tales of the Eastern Slavs. It is associated with a sweet, carefree life, which is reflected, for example, in the saying “It’s not life, but raspberries.”
RASPBERRY FOR HEALTH
Responsible for the bright color of raspberries anthocyanins – biologically active substances contained in the skin of fruits and pulp. They are natural antioxidants because they protect cells from the negative effects of the environment and promote rejuvenation of the body.
The main health benefits of eating aromatic raspberry fruits are: diaphoretic effect, anti-cold, antipyretic, antiseptic and restorative properties. So, alcohol tincture made from berries effectively helps with cough. It should be prepared in advance: pour fresh fruits with alcohol or good vodka and leave for a month. Drink 3 times a day, 2 tbsp. spoons until the cough goes away.
One-third of raspberries consist of dietary fiber, and this has a beneficial effect on intestinal function and speeds up metabolism. Raspberries are recommended for those whose work involves constant nervous tension, as well as for anemia.
SIDE EFFECTS OF CONSUMPTION OF RASPBERRY.
The high content of organic acids makes raspberries undesirable on the table for people with exacerbations of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, with metabolic disorders, in particular, those suffering from gout.
Due to the presence of salicylates, which thin the blood, raspberries should be consumed with caution by those with blood clotting problems.
In case of kidney diseases, especially if there are stones in them, you need to remember the diuretic properties of these berries.
And, of course, we should not forget that red raspberries are a strong allergen.
RASPBERRY FOR BEAUTY
The beneficial properties of raspberries are used in cosmetic purposes.
Refreshing facial mask. Grind 100 g of berries, strain, add 2 tbsp. spoons of milk, mix, moisten cotton swabs and apply to the face, covering with a damp towel on top. After 20 minutes, remove the “compress”, wash your face with warm water and apply nourishing cream to dry skin.
Mask for sensitive skin. Mix 1 teaspoon of cottage cheese with 1 teaspoon of liquid honey, add 2 teaspoons of raspberry juice. Apply the mixture directly, after 15 minutes rinse with water.
Raspberry juice is generally very beneficial for the skin: it is used to wipe the face for acne, it is used in masks for nutrition, softening and whitening.
RASPBERRY IN THE COOKBOOK
Raspberries have excellent taste. They are good with yogurt, cottage cheese, ice cream, and cream. They can be added to fruit salads and summer drinks such as smoothies. Raspberries are used to make jelly, pastille, marmalade, and fragrant jam. Raspberry sauces are used to season meat dishes.
This berry does not store well, so it is better to freeze it to preserve its beneficial properties as much as possible. Another option for preparing for future use is to grind raspberries with sugar.
Do I need to wash raspberries before eating? Due to the fragility of the berries, this is difficult to do. However, the worm bugs living in raspberries can pretty much ruin your appetite. Therefore, it is best to pour cold water over the berries and leave them for a while - the insects will float up and the raspberries will become safe for consumption. After draining the water, scatter the berries in one layer on paper or regular towels and let dry.
