We did not have time to collect the green beans in time, the pods became coarse and dried out. It turned out to be a lot of seeds. Can these beans (black grain) be cooked like regular beans and eaten?

At its core, asparagus or vegetable beans have a universal purpose. Not only unripe blades can be used for food, but also already ripened grain, no matter what color it is. Its seed coat is coarser than that of shelled grain beans, so the seeds of green beans must be pre-soaked and cooked longer.
You can make soups from the seeds of green beans (the only caveat: if the grain is black, the broth will be dark), vegetable stews and pates. Or you can simply boil until soft, and then fry with onions, like potatoes.
First, pour boiling water over the black beans, boil for 10 minutes, cover with a lid, remove from the heat and leave to steep for 4 hours. After swelling, the water in which it stood is drained, the grain is washed and, after pouring boiling water, set to cook for an hour. You need to add salt about 20-30 minutes after boiling, otherwise the beans will turn out hard.
