How can you avoid catching a cold when everyone around you is coughing and sneezing? I have been using one recipe for a long time. At the first symptoms of the disease, I drink rosehip liqueur. Grind 2 tbsp. fresh or dry rose hips (peeled from hairs), pour 3 tbsp. water, add 3 tbsp. sugar, mix, leave for five days in a warm place (preferably in the sun), then add 2 tbsp. vodka and leave for another five days, but in a cool, dark place. Then I strain, squeezing the fruit well.

I drink tincture 1 tbsp. 20-30 minutes after meals twice a day. It should be taken into account that after taking the product you should rinse your mouth, otherwise the composition may destroy the tooth enamel. Natalya SEMENOVA, Moscow

I bought very large rose hips at the market. I would like to grow these in my garden. I tried to find information, and there is an idea that this is a rose hip, either crossed, or grafted onto a hawthorn. I noticed that the seeds are indeed similar to hawthorn seeds, and the fruits are similar to rose hips, but larger, with thinner skin than rose hips, and with the flavor of hawthorn berries.

There are no hybrids between hawthorn and rosehip. Also, rootstock combinations of rosehip and hawthorn are unknown to us. The fact is that although hawthorn and rose hips are in the same family, they belong to different subfamilies. Thus, it seems impossible to breed hybrids or obtain compatible vaccinations. They are possible only within the subfamily.

Let us remember that hawthorn is often a dwarf rootstock for apple and pear trees, but this is rather an exception, because such grafts do not last long. We suspect that you bought rose hips, but of a modern variety, such as Globus, Finger, Spire or similar. Modern varieties of rose hips are very large-fruited, rich in vitamins, with fleshy pulp and a refreshing aroma.
