Growing seedlings on a windowsill is an interesting, entertaining and gambling activity. You always want to get a better result than your neighbor.
Therefore, before growing it, I carry out pre-sowing preparation of the seeds: sorting, disinfection in a weak solution of potassium permanganate and always hardening. I apply low temperatures to the swollen seeds of heat-loving crops (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers) in order to increase the plants' resistance to weather conditions. Thus, fruiting begins earlier and the harvest increases.
For example, I annually keep swollen tomato seeds for 18 hours at a temperature of 2 to 6 degrees, then 20 hours at a temperature of 5 degrees. I studied different periods of such hardening: 10, 20, 30, 20 days - and was convinced that XNUMX-day hardening gives the best results.
Tomatoes from such seeds grew more powerful, were distinguished by early ripening and increased productivity.

Last season I grew 30 different varieties of tomatoes. The best in terms of yield was the Iranian Miracle. This large-fruited variety was the first to ripen. Fruit weight is from 1 to 1,5 kg.
